Ergonomics

The course is relevant for long-term unemployed, refugees and unskilled.

Course Description

The course promotes an understanding that speed should not come at the expense of physical well-being and that speed and precision can go hand in hand with ergonomics.

In the course, the participant learns:

  • Execution of various cleaning tasks in the most correct and gentle manner.
  • Correct body postures and basic principles in relation to different tasks to minimize strain on the back or knees.
  • Use of ergonomic tools, such as various types of mops for different purposes and various types of cloths for different surfaces.
  • Proper use of a vacuum cleaner.
  • How to lift correctly and avoid heavy and repetitive lifting.

Goal

Based on current recommendations on appropriate work postures, the participant gains a fundamental understanding of ergonomic principles and work techniques that prevent wear and workplace injuries.

Upon completion of the course, there is an expectation that the participant can make the right choices and vary work postures according to workflows and job functions in their daily work. This includes incorporating relevant techniques based on the work situation and using appropriate exercises to prevent injuries and promote well-being.

The course is relevant for all our participants but is aimed at those who wish to work in cleaning or within the health and care sector. A part of a good working environment is also that our participants and future employees learn about correct work postures and how to avoid wear and injuries.
